Eric Kennedy, one of last year’s recipients of the Young Scholars & Activists Fellowship, defended his dissertation, Finding Rough America, this spring. His work focuses on the lives of American lower classes in literature and film, particularly precarity and the interconnectedness of gender, masculinity, and violence within class-centric narratives.
