TOMORROW 9am PST, Zoom: Writing Our Working-Class Stories
How can we use journalistic tools to tell diverse working-class stories for the people? In this WCSA Talk, journalist and SF State professor, Venise Wagner will share her work on a memoir rooted in her grandfather’s story, who was a Black steel worker in Chicago during WWII.
Participants at work on their own working-class memoirs are welcome to prepare a 5-minute share-out about their process and purpose. Participants who’ve published working-class memoirs and have knowledge to share are also invited to do so in the same way. Participants who prefer to listen, and ask questions if they like, are also welcome. Come one, come all!
This talk is coordinated by WCSA past-president and community college journalism prof, Jen Vernon.
