Grounded in the mission of the Working-Class Studies Association (WCSA) and social sciences scholarship, Working-Class Studies: Scholarship, Voices, and Social Justice is a book series that showcases cutting-edge, interdisciplinary, and international scholarship that advances understanding of working-class life, cultures, histories, and struggles.
Aims and scope
Publishing in partnership with the Working-Class Studies Association, this series provides a platform for researchers, educators and activists to explore class as a central analytic category and lived reality. In alignment with a commitment to socially relevant, high impact research, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and core disciplinary grounding across sociology, criminology, education, politics and social policy, the series publishes social science grounded works which place working class lives, cultures, politics and social movements at the forefront, highlighting issues such as inequality, labour rights, education, culture, race, gender, and community transformation.
Each volume centres the voices and knowledge of working-class people while advancing theoretical, methodological, and practice-based contributions to the given field and broader class studies. Ultimately, the series serves as an authoritative home for rigorous, accessible, and socially engaged scholarship that bridges academic research and real-world impact. Globally relevant, the series is well positioned to appeal to audiences in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, each of which has established scholarly and practitioner communities engaged in working class, labour, and social justice research.
