By Air
The two closest airports to Corvallis are in Portland (PDX) and Eugene (EUG). PDX is a 90-120 minute drive, depending on time of day, while EUG takes about an hour. Flights into PDX, as a larger hub, will usually be much more affordable, especially if you are coming from anywhere outside the Pacific Coast. There is also an airport shuttle from PDX to Corvallis (Groome Transportation) This shuttle bus runs almost every hour, around the clock, every day of the week and is probably the most pleasant way to get to campus.
You can rent a car from either airport:
- Rental companies at the Portland Airport.
- Rental companies at the Eugene Airport.
Staying in Portland
If you are wanting to stay over a night in Portland, either on the way in or way out, there is a lovely hotel by the airport.
If you are wanting a longer stay in Portland, we recommend the following places:
- the affordable boutique Hotel Rose
- the cool and quirky Kennedy School (McMenamins)
- the Crystal Hotel (also McMenamins), located in the heart of the Pearl District
- the classic Heathman, if you want a little luxury
- retro-fitted Jupiter Hotel, well away from corporate Portland
- the Portland Mayor’s Mansion for a splurgy B&B experience
By Train
If you are located anywhere on the West Coast, taking the train is a really great option. Amtrak Cascades runs once a day (in each direction) and makes major stops at Eugene and Portland. It also stops at Albany, which is a fifteen-minute drive from the conference site. You can hire a local taxi to drive you from the train station to campus. We can try to arrange ride sharing, with advance notice.
By Car
Corvallis is an easy 15-minute drive off of the I-5 highway. Use whatever maps program works for you! There are no secret pathways, obstacles, or major traffic jams. You will need a parking permit if your car is remaining on campus. Information can be found on the OSU website and, if you are staying in the dorms, on the dormitory information site.
