Every year, the Working-Class Studies Association hosts a conference dedicated to international working-class life, labor, and culture. The next conference will be in Laramie, Wyoming from 18-21st of June, with a dedicated online track on 27 June, 2026. Thank you, Dr. Scott Henkel and the rest of the Conference Organizing Committee!

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the 2026 Working-Class Studies Association conference!

We invite you to stay for the entire conference, or as much as possible, to participate in building the community of working-class studies. The conference will open Wednesday evening, June 17th, with a welcoming reception followed by three days of panel discussions, plenaries, and special events!

From the WCSA website, follow the Join WCSA link. This link will take you to the membership portal, which will ask you to log in or to sign up. After you log in, please follow the Store link; at the top of the next page there are options for Membership and Conference Registration, which also includes options for reserving rooms in the University of Wyoming dorms. (Note that all presenters must be WCSA members to participate.)

Best option for participants travelling by air:

Fly through Denver International Airport to the Laramie Regional Airport. In Laramie, a conference-organized shuttle or your hotel shuttle will drive you to your lodging.

Second best option for air travellers:

Fly to Denver International Airport, rent a car and drive to Laramie. Via I25 North and I80 West, the drive takes about two hours. (There is currently no shuttle service from DIA to Laramie.)

For participants travelling by car:

Laramie is conveniently located just off I80. Both the UW dorms and the recommended hotels are located on or near Grand Avenue, Laramie’s main street.

Best option:

The University of Wyoming dorms are clean, relatively new, and conveniently located for the conference. All rooms are single occupancy, and include breakfast and linens. If you choose to stay in the dorms, you can select the number of nights for your stay when you register for the conference and join WCSA, at this link. The price for dorm rooms is $75 per night.

Additional options:

Hilton Garden Inn Laramie, which can be booked at a conference rate.

Holiday Inn Express

There are a limited number of rentals in Laramie available on AirB&B and VRBO.

The U.S. has specific entry and visa requirements for foreign nationals that you should consider as you plan your travel.

All visitors must hold a valid passport. Many countries require a Visitor Visa (B-1/B-2) to enter the United States.

Nationals of certain countries can travel to the U.S. for business or tourism for up to 90 days or less without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

Travelers under the VWP must apply for authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before departure.
